The time to act is now! AMS during and after the COVID-19 pandemic

In the ECCMID 2022 symposium “Antimicrobial resistance and COVID-19: increase or decrease?”, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) efforts and antimicrobial resistance rates worldwide were discussed. Though no definitive answer to the titular question could be obtained, experts agreed that it is crucial to continue and reinforce AMS efforts, leveraging the knowledge gained and research networks established during the pandemic.
